The South Coast resort area of Jamaica is the most naturally diverse on the island. The area has the largest remaining natural wetland in the island and is habitat for about 300 crocodiles. The area boasts the longest navigational river in Jamaica, called the Black River. Its historic town is situated at the mouth of the river. Fine examples of Georgian architecture are displayed along its streets. Activities are also in abundance. Whether it is golf, nightclubs, horseback riding and more, there is a lot to enjoy.

SAFARI/YS FALLS TOUR

Take a boat tour on the Black River where you will see natural habitats including crocodiles and different types of birds. Then it is on to the YS Falls to enjoy seven levels of cascading waterfall. Lunch included.


APPLETON ESTATE RUM TOUR / BLACK RIVER SAFARI

Take a tour of the Appleton Estate Rum Factory and see how rum is fermented and distilled. Rum sampling available. Continue to the Black River for a scenic boat tour viewing crocodiles, birds and other natural habitats. Lunch included.

Apple Valley Park- Pedal boats, canoeing, fishing, swimming pool, mountain jacuzzi and picnic area. Nature walks.

Appleton Estate- See how rum is fermented and distilled. Sample rum on your tour.

Black River- Historic old seaport town. The first in Jamaica to have electricity, telephones and automobiles.

Black River Boat Tour- Journey up the Black River, where crocodiles loll on the riverbanks.

Cashoo Ostrich Park- Slice of farm life on a working 100- acre ostrich farm. Herbal garden, horseback riding.

Lover's Leap- A sheer 1700-foot cliff overhanging the sea where it is said two slave lovers jumped to their death rather than be separated.

Maroon Village- A settlement where maroons (escaped slaves) have lived for centuries.

Y. S. Falls- A rugged hiking adventure to one of the most breathtaking waterfalls on the island.

Bamboo Avenue- Lengthy stretch of road about seven miles long, where tall bamboo forms a canopy overhead.
