Founded in 1693 following the destruction of Port Royal by its famed earthquake, Kingston has always been a hotspot. It has always been the cultural center of the Caribbean. Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park- Park ideal for nature lovers, mountain hiking and picnicking.

Bob Marley Museum- Home of the late reggae superstar, composer and singer. Memorabilia documents his work. Includes theatre.

Castleton Botanical Gardens- Scenic gardens with river, flowering plants and shrubs

Caymanas Park- Horse racing grounds.

Devon House: A 19th- century mansion with a grog shop, restaurants, craft and souvenir shops.

Fort Charles and Maritime Museum- Port Royal. Fort's foundation dates back to 1655, when the British captured Jamaica. Once the home of Admiral Horatio Nelson, a British naval hero.

Kings House- Residence of Jamaica's Governor General.

Lime Cay- Offshore of Port Royal. Island with a white sand beach and clear water. Swimming, snorkeling and yachting are popular.

National Gallery of Jamaica- Jamaican paintings, carvings and other art on display.

Newcastle- In the Blue Mountains. A training facility for the Jamaica Defence Force. Panoramic view of Kingston.

Port Royal- Remains of a former pirate city comprising the Giddy House that tilts at 45-degree angle. Maritime museum, Fort Charles, Museum of Historical Archaeology and St. Peter's Church.
